Leah Fein is an author, communications professional, and marketing technology specialist whose lifelong fascination with poodles began in an extraordinary childhood. As the daughter of Carol Makin, a professional dog handler and American Kennel Club (AKC) judge, Leah grew up in a world where champion show dogs were an integral part of everyday life. Surrounded by approximately twenty poodles, she developed an early appreciation for their intelligence, individuality, loyalty, and the remarkable dedication required to raise and care for them.

Her childhood was anything but ordinary. The familiar sounds of grooming dryers, scissors, and clippers filled her family home, while weekends often meant traveling across the country to prestigious dog shows. By the age of seven, Leah was accompanying her mother in a specially equipped van carrying everything necessary for professional competitions.
